While there have been several titles that take place in prehistoric times or prehistoric-like settings, they weren't all that accurate to the actual Mesolithic Era.
This is probably the aspect that makes Far Cry Primal one of the most distinctive games being released. This is easily one of the more unique games coming out and is something we should all be excited about for several reasons. Previous Far Cry titles have done a wonderful job of providing players with lush, natural environments fraught with many dangers, but Primal brings survival back to basics. While there are many "survival" type games out there, this is the one that takes the term literally. Eschewing 21st century technology and luxuries, this title brings us back to a time where mankind didn't rule the planet and had to struggle just to survive. Thankfully, Ubisoft is shaking things up with Far Cry Primal. While all of these places are great, they have become fairly ubiquitous and somewhat ho-hum. Most video game releases these days take place in modern times, the future, or some sort of medieval fantasy setting.
